JOB SUMMARY:
As an ISM Consulting Fellow, your time will be split between customer-facing projects, working with the broader ISM team across all functional areas, and the ISM management team. Internally, this role will help support our C-suite and technical resources for whatever needs might arise, within reason. Customer-facing, this role will perform the duties of a Virtual CIO, with a strong emphasis on project management and performing data-driven analysis to develop insightful recommendations, draft and refine customer-facing deliverables. Consulting fellows take on light responsibility in project teams and have the opportunity to attend and contribute to customer-facing meetings. Having direct contact with the customer is a highlight and key growth opportunity for consulting fellows. Equally as crucial as part of a high-growth startup is consulting fellows’ assistance with internal initiatives, including: drafting proposals, supporting business development efforts, and helping with office administration.
ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS:
This position reports to the President and will interface with executive staff, all internal and remote employees, including current customer(s).
SKILLS, ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Support (60-80%)
- Promote and represent the corporate culture and core values in all aspects of your job duties.

- Assist in the successful onboarding of new clients into ISM’s consulting & advisory offerings.
- Maintain strong business relationship with C level professionals and/or decision makers.
- Leverage team resources to help identify risks that are causing noise

- Proactive approach to technology planning
- Understand client’s business and their fiscal cycles
- Prepare and present recommended technology proposals to mitigate risk, reduce noise, and/or align technology with the Business Plan.
- Recognize existing client / vendor relationships and help to maximize ROI
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Gather data through interviews and secondary research
- Generate creative, action-oriented insights and recommendations
- Support joint problem-solving with customers
- Draft high-impact presentations and plans
- Assist with project management including scheduling and follow-up
- Prepare for and participate in customer calls/meetings, stakeholder interviews, etc.
Internal Activities (10-20%)
- Work with the ISM management team to increase efficiency of functions and processes at ISM
- Assist with ongoing internal initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as CIO or similar managerial role
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
- Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
- Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- A strong strategic and business mindset
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
- Comfortable multi-tasking
